Web Creation Links

Web Page Creation Links

Excellent links related to my ramblings about "Newbie's Web Authoring"

Web Tutorials for the newbieNew! I have been working on a new web site, webcreation4newbies,com, which is all about web authoring, being a webmaster, getting a domain name, choosing web host, getting your own web site online, making web graphics, earning money from your site, listing well in search engines, and a lot of other things. Check it out!

  • www.download.com  The name says it all!

  • www.TotallyFreeStuff.com/web.asp   Free stuff for the Webmaster.

  • www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Sands/1492/rpmain.htm   This guy has lots of information about using FrontPage, FrontPage98, FrontPage Express, etc.  This site is especially geared towards GeoCities pages, but could be just as useful to webmasters using other free web page services.

  • http://jeffglover.com/sucky.html   This helpful, articulate, and amusing site lists some of the most common pitfalls that will make your site "sucky".  There are also other pages on this site with many tutorials and tips on how to make your page better.  A "must see" site!

  • http://www.v7n.com/forums  Webmaster forums. Excellent resource and nice community.
  • www.mikesworld.net    An exciting web site with lots of help for the web page author and web artist.  This site seems to be going through some sort of transition, but I'm keeping the link up so when Mike is ready, he can amaze us all!

  • www.jgsoft.com    EditPad, the best postcardware text editor on the Internet!

  • www.utoronto.ca/webdocs/HTMLdocs/NewHTML/intro.html   HTML help.

  • www.cwru.edu/help/introHTML/toc.html   HTML Tutorial.

  • www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/General/Internet/WWW/HTMLPrimer.html     HTML Primer.  You can even print it out for personal use.

  • www.microsoft.com/frontpage   FrontPage 98 & 2000.  Home page for this fun and well-reviewed web page creation software.

  • My Linkware site - free web graphics to use on your web site! (All I ask in return is a link back to my graphics site.)
  • www.earthlink.net   EarthLink.   Excellent Internet Service Provider.  (ISP)  6 MBs Web space with account.   They now even offer a new online web-creation tool.  It could be a good place to "get your feet wet", and get your first web page up in a few minutes, using this "newbie friendly" tool!
  • www.ispcheck.com  A pretty good place to find a new (cheaper, or faster, perhaps) I.S.P., or a web page provider . (They will list providers that support FrontPage 98, or I.S.Ps that have dial-in numbers in your area, and so on!)

  • http://thelist.internet.com   Another good resource for checking out the various ISPs in your area.

  • www.geocities.com  Offers an abundance of webspace, free tools, lots of fun.  I also find that their "banner program" really works, so be sure to use it if you sign up for GeoCities!

  • www.thefreesite.com  I keep on going back, day after day, to this page.  It has great web authoring links, from free counters, free guest books, free banners.  The list of free things it tells you about goes on and on.  It is a "must see" web site.

  • www.freakyfreddies.com     Lots of great freebie links, especially for the webmaster!

  • www.webzite.com  A really nice web page giving lots of help and links for HTML and web page authoring newbies!

  • www.ftpx.com  FTP Explorer.   One of the easiest and most fun FTP programs out there.  !

  • www.cuteftp.com  If you must pay for an FTP program, this one is a good one. For both Windows and Mac.
