Yosemite National Park Desktop Wallpaper

After getting many requests for desktop wallpaper, I decided to make some wallpaper of some of my favorite Yosemite photos. I made the first version of this wallpaper way back in 1998. My image editing skills were...well, they weren't very good. But, as time has passed, I have become more proficient with image editing software, like Adobe Photoshop. So, I have finally come back to these original wallpaper images (for which I always had to apologize) and tried to fix 'em up with Photoshop. I am, for the most part, satisfied with the results. But bear in mind, the original wallpaper photos were pretty abysmal, so there was only so much I could do. As it happens, I also have a newer Yosemite Wallpaper page (with much better quality images) on my "main" Yosemite site, Bearclover.net.

All wallpaper images are between 60-150 Kb in size. I wanted to make sure the image quality was as good as possible. 30-60 second download wait on slower connections.

To set your wallpaper, download it to your hard drive. Put the image file in a place where you won't lose it. (Choose a specific folder for it, like "My Documents", etc.) In Windows, right-click and choose "save file as..." or "download to disk". In Mac, hold-click and download file. Alternatively, you can go to "File...Save As.." in Internet Explorer or Netscape and save the file that way. Then you can set the picture as your desktop wallpaper later.

Windows users can use IE or Netscape to set the picture as wallpaper right away. But it is always a good idea to also save the file to your hard disk, as a "backup". If not, you will lose this wallpaper as soon as you change your wallpaper within Netscape of IE.

Please note : I have created another Yosemite wallpaper page over at my "main" Yosemite photos domain, Bearclover.net. The wallpaper there was created under more favorable image editing conditions, so I think they are of good quality. Check it out!
